Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. She sings as well. She was raised by her mom in the USA she had to face numerous racial insults which gave her feeling of being a bit unpopular. In the ninth grade, after a school audition where she received praises for her singing as she built confidence. This not only increased her self-confidence but also changed her goals for the future. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. She was 23 when she had her first Broadway show with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. The most notable accomplishment of her career occurred with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by critics. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater fame. An accomplished singer and producer, she's produced one single and an extensive work. As an activist, she works tirelessly for LGBT equality.
